.NET Web Developer

Individual must be proficient in all or most of the following: .NET (2.0 & 3.0) — C#, WCF, ASP.NET, Custom Web Controls, AJAX, Microsoft AJAX Toolkit, Microsoft Enterprise Library 2.0; SQL; Web Technologies — XHTML, Familiarity with standard based design, CSS, Graphics; Documentation skills/Technical writing; Familiarity with Test Driven Development; Familiar with Source Code Control Systems. Position requires an associate’s degree in related area and 3–5 years of experience in the field. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Must be self-driven, self-motivating, possess excellent communication skills, be extremely patient and have the ability to problem solve.

Public Relations Social Media Specialist

SmartyPig is looking for an energetic and ambitious candidate to fill the following full-time position of Public Relations/Social Media Specialist at its West Des Moines, Iowa location. This position is responsible for day-to-day interaction with members of the media and our PR firm, as well as defining and executing a social media strategy that leverages media placement, social media tools, and online platforms to create synergies, increase exposure/reach and promote brand awareness. The specialist will manage social media properties including daily monitoring, posting and content development of the SmartyPig blog. Additional responsibilities will include marketing efforts, creating affiliate programs, and buying and placing media advertisements.

Looking for:

  • Experience working with social networks and bloggers to build communities and strategy.
  • Three years of experience as a Public Relations or Media professional.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of strategic integrated consumer PR communications and how PR can strengthen the brand and influence perception.
  • Familiarity with traditional consumer and business media.
  • Previous experience with online product management, product marketing or partner marketing highly desirable.
  • Must be a self-starter who can prioritize effectively and efficiently manage his/her time and excel in a fast-paced Internet environment.
  • Strong computer, communication and writing skills a must.
  • Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in communications, public relations, marketing or related field.

Web Designer

SmartyPig is looking for a full-time Web Designer at its West Des Moines, Iowa location. This position will be responsible for updating and maintaining existing websites in addition to developing new websites from the ground up. Candidates must be adept at working both individually and as part of a team, be passionate about standards-based web design, and be comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong design background and experience working within an ASP.NET development environment.

  • Three or more years experience with standards-based front-end web development.
  • Proficiency in XHTML, HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript/jQuery.
  • Familiarity with Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Fireworks, and Illustrator.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
