Tutorial: Link Funding Source
Before you can get started earning the most money for your money on SmartyPig, you
need to link up your SmartyPig account to an existing bank or credit union savings
or checking account. You may link as many different funding sources as you want to as many
different goals as you want.

Steps You’ll Take
-
Enter Your Bank Information
You’ll need to provide some information about your current savings or checking account
to link to your SmartyPig account: your bank name, bank phone number, bank routing
number, bank account number, and account owner’s name.

Note: If you wish to use a savings account to fund your SmartyPig
goal, Regulation D limits the number of electronic ACH transfers that can be made
from a savings account to 6 per statement cycle. Statement cycles are determined
by your financial institution.
-
Name the Funding Source (optional)
Give your funding source a unique and quickly recognizable nickname so that you
can easily identify it inside your SmartyPig account. This is helpful if you are
planning on setting up multiple funding sources for your different goals.
-
Verify the Funding Source
After you’ve linked your funding source, you will be prompted to verify it. SmartyPig
will make one or two small deposits into your funding source. Once you see the deposit(s),
enter the amount(s) within the alert message on your SmartyPig dashboard to complete
the verification process.
Note: Your goals funded by an unverified source will not be able
to be redeemed until the account is verified.
